*Watch the Moon "Eclipse" the Seven Sisters - Sunday Feb 21st*
On 21st Feb at about 8:45pm, South Africa will see some of the Pleiades
stars disappear behind the Moon . It's pretty rare, and will best be
viewed through binoculars. The Pleiades are also known as the Seven
Sisters or isiLimela.
Technically this is called an occultation - in fact an eclipse of the
Sun is technically an occultation (one body passing in front of
another). For all occultations, the timing depends on where you are on
the planet. A list of times for a selection of South African towns, and
a map of the Pleiades, is at www.planetarium.co.za
